We Speak, serving greater Lake Highlands and Richardson, Texas, offers treatment and hope to children who have communication disorders. We rely on referrals from pediatricians and prior clients. Parents initiate the process with a phone call and schedule an intake interview in which the therapist collects a history, discusses evaluation procedures, and explains treatment options. The child is then evaluated through formal testing, observation, and speech and language samples. Diagnosis of speech, language, movement, and/or sensory integration deficits is often secondary to other issues such as developmental delays, cognitive limitations, or pervasive developmental disorders, including autism.
